Our artisans have discovered only four usable metal ores in this world of ours at the present date. These are Iron, Dull Copper, Gold, and Agapite. While these ores can be refined into their usual fully metallic states by any competent miner, shrewd craftsmen with alchemy skills can do interesting, perhaps unexpected things with them.
Each ore vein in the world has a 79% chance of being iron, 11.2% chance of being dull copper, 5.6% chance of being gold, and 4.2% chance of being agapite.
Shadow Iron By mixing iron ore together with an equivalent amount of spider’s silk, an interesting ore can be obtained. This ore must be smelted at night, lest it all burn away in the sunlight. Shadow iron is a bit stronger than normal iron and seems to hold the very power of night itself. Adventurers donning any piece of gear crafted from shadow iron shall never find themselves unable to see in the darkness.
One iron ore combined with one spider’s silk gives one shadow iron ore. Shadow iron ore requires mining and alchemy skills of 70 each to smelt into ingots. Shadow iron must be smelted at night, or the ore will burn away without producing ingots. Eyes of Dusk – A single piece of gear crafted from shadow iron grants night sight when equipped.
Copper Combining dull copper ore with an equivalent amount of sulfuric ash will produce a more pure copper, as the sulfur will burn away a greater percentage of impurities than the fires alone. Copper gear, while perhaps not as strong as iron, has an interesting relationship with poison. Armor crafted from this material will give adventurers increased resistance to poisonous effects, while weapons crafted from it seem to hold a poisonous property all their own.
One dull copper ore combined with one sulfuric ash gives one copper ore Copper ore requires mining and alchemy skills of 75 each to smelt into ingots.
Bronze Combining iron ore with copper ore will produce bronze ore. This material seems to carry the fires of the forge with it, imbuing items created from it with warmth. Armors crafted from bronze will protect adventurers from cold damage, and weapons crafted from it will burn their foes. The warmth of these items will comfort weary adventurers, helping them to carry more weight for long distances.
One iron ore combined with one copper ore gives one bronze ore. Bronze ore requires mining and alchemy skills of 80 each in order to smelt into ingots. Warmth of Comfort – Each piece of bronze gear provides between 10 and 20 stone of extra carry weight.
- Verite
- Combining bronze ore with agapite ore produces verite ore. A truly higher tier material, verite provides well rounded defenses when crafted into armor, and carries along some of copper’s poison abilities when crafted into weapons. In addition to this, the material seems somewhat attuned to magical energies, and adventurers will find that armor made of this material will not block their meditation.
- One bronze ore combined with one agapite ore gives one verite ore.
Verite ore requires mining and alchemy skills of 95 each in order to smelt into ingots. Meditive Balance – Verite armor allows meditation to restore mana.
- Valorite
- Combining verite ore with gold will produce the ultimate material, valorite. Adventurers wearing armor crafted of this material will see a reduction in fire resistance from users of verite, but all other resistances are superior. Those swinging a valorite weapon will reap a plethlora of benefits. Valorite provides not only physical damage, but also cold, energy, fire, and even poison damages all inflicted upon their targets. Valorite gear is very durable, and seems to have the property of growing harder in relation to the amount of the material gathered closely.
- One verite ore combined with one gold ore gives valorite ore.
Valorite ore requires mining and alchemy skills of 99 each in order to smelt into ingots. Endurance of Valor – Each piece of valorite armor worn provides 10% increase in durability to all valorite gear worn.
- Alloying Forge
- The alloying forge is a special item that makes alloying more convenient. It is capable of accepting all raw materials at once for any alloy the craftsman wishes to make, allowing production in a single step.
- The alloying forge is a reward item purchasable with points, double clicking the alloying forge will open a menu where the user can select the desired alloy to make, and if they have all the required base ingredients production of the finished ingots will be attempted.
If you do not have an alloying forge, the system message will provide prompts for possible alloying agents when double-clicking an ore pile.
